Apple may adapt Samsung OLED screens for their iPad and MacBook in the past, but now will be upgrading those screens which will help users get more features out of it. People are not very sure about what all devices Apple will be using the Samsung OLED screen.
Apple is known for using high-end screens in all their devices and it is their selling point for iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max. The sales of the iPhone have slowed down a lot and the company needs to make some kind of changes in their devices to get their sales numbers up.
Koreas’ ETnews reported:
“Apple is currently in a situation where it has to pay Samsung Display hundreds of millions of dollars in penalty. This is because Apple signed a contract with Samsung Display to secure a certain amount of supplies of flexible OLED panels for its new iPhones and greatly fell short of this contract.”
Only the iPhone X uses the OLE screen which has been made by Samsung but somehow the sales of the iPhone have dropped in the past year. Apple is now trying to find a way to put one screen in all their devices. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S is praised for its OLED display. This screen is also used in the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Yoga.
According to Ming-chi Kuo, a famous Apple analyst the screen used in iPhone XR is basically a cheaper version of the OLED screen. Apple might end up putting those displays in all other iPhones to make the cost of the phones a bit reasonable. He has also said that the iPad might release again with a 10 and 12-inch display in 2020 and there will also be a new 15 inch and 17 inch MacBook from Apple by 2021.
