Gaming Desks With Charging Stations: Two Sizes Compared

Generic home-office desk with a monitor and a built-in outlet module.

Compare compact and wider Bestier desks with built-in outlets, with practical checks for charging power, screen placement, storage and cable safety.

A gaming desk with a charging station is useful when it puts power within reach without sacrificing room for your keyboard, mouse and legs. Before buying, check the actual desk dimensions, the outlet module’s rating and the USB charging specification. A built-in USB port does not automatically provide the power a gaming laptop needs.

The two desks below offer different layouts: a compact Bestier 44-inch desk with reversible side shelves, and a wider Bestier 71.5-inch model with a monitor shelf. Both selected versions have integrated AC outlets and USB charging ports. Choose between them primarily by your equipment and available space.

Two gaming desks with built-in charging

Selected desk Layout Power connections Most useful for
Bestier D471ZUS, 44-inch Compact rectangular desk; reversible four-tier side shelving 4 AC outlets and 2 USB charging ports A smaller room and a setup that benefits from vertical storage
Bestier H100618KUS, 71.5-inch Wider desk sold as an L-shaped model; raised monitor shelf and side storage 4 AC outlets and 2 USB charging ports A larger gaming or work area with multiple devices

These are the black carbon-fiber-look variants. The finish is a surface treatment on a furniture board, so do not read “carbon fiber” as a promise of a solid carbon-fiber desktop. Monitors, computers, consoles and other equipment in styled product photos are not part of the desk purchase.

Bestier 44-inch D471ZUS: a compact option with reversible storage

Bestier’s 44-inch model combines four AC outlets and two USB ports with an LED light, side storage bag and headphone hook. The side shelves can go on either side, and the second shelf has three height positions and can be removed.

Why choose it: shelving uses vertical space, while the reversible layout helps you keep the tower or accessories on the side that works for your room. This is the stronger starting point when a wide desk would crowd the bed, doorway or chair.

The tradeoff: the working surface is relatively shallow. Bestier lists the overall dimensions as approximately 44 inches wide, 19 inches deep and 44 inches high; the height includes the tall shelf structure. Do not interpret that final number as the typing-surface height. Check the dimension diagram and your seated position before ordering.

Before buying: measure your monitor stand’s front-to-back footprint and your tower’s width, depth and cable clearance. Moving a shelf does not guarantee that every PC case or console will fit with adequate airflow.

Bestier 71.5-inch H100618KUS: more width and a raised monitor shelf

The 71.5-inch Bestier desk adds a long raised monitor shelf, adjustable metal-grid storage, a cup holder and headphone hooks. It also has an LED strip, four AC outlets and two USB ports.

Why choose it: the extra width gives you more ways to arrange screens and separate frequently used equipment from storage. A shelf can free up some space beneath a monitor, provided its feet fit fully on the shelf.

The tradeoff: the larger footprint needs a deliberate room plan. Bestier gives an overall envelope of roughly 71.5 by 31.5 inches, with a listed overall height of 35.8 inches and a 19.7-inch surface-depth measurement. Those figures describe different parts of the structure. Use the diagram to map the entire shape, including the side storage, rather than treating it as a simple deep rectangle.

Before buying: check the monitor shelf’s usable dimensions, load limit and height against your screens. A raised shelf is helpful only if it places the display at a comfortable viewing height. Verify mounting clearances separately if you plan to use monitor arms.

What does “charging station” actually include?

Desk listings use this phrase for several different things. Separate these features when shopping:

  • AC outlets: accept the normal wall chargers and power cords supplied with your equipment. Several sockets share the module’s total electrical rating.
  • USB charging ports: may be suitable for accessories, but their output and supported charging protocols determine what they can charge effectively.
  • USB-C Power Delivery: requires an explicit supported output and a compatible device and cable. The connector shape alone is not enough information.
  • Wireless charging: requires a separately specified charging surface and device compatibility. Do not infer it from a picture of a phone lying on the desk.
  • Controller docks: need to match the exact controller. A desk with outlets does not automatically include a console-specific dock.

Both Bestier descriptions list a USB specification of 5V, 2.2A. They do not establish a high-wattage USB-C PD laptop-charging feature or explain a guaranteed full output from both USB ports at once. For a laptop or demanding device, use its appropriate charger and follow its power requirements. Treat the integrated USB connections as convenience ports unless the exact module’s documentation establishes more.

Measure the setup you will actually use

Desktop depth and screen position

A wide desk can still leave the monitor too close to your face. OSHA’s monitor guidance recommends a generally preferred viewing distance of 20 to 40 inches, with the top of the screen at or below eye level. That distance is measured from your eyes to the screen, not from the front to the back of the desk.

Mark the proposed desktop on a floor or existing table, then lay out the monitor stand, keyboard and mouse pad. Sit where the chair would be. Check whether you can use the mouse without reaching around a controller dock or running off the usable edge.

Legroom, storage and airflow

Storage shelves are useful only when they do not crowd your seated position. OSHA’s desk guidance emphasizes adequate clearance for legs and feet and enough surface space to position frequently used equipment comfortably.

Measure the full width of the chair, including armrests, and allow space to roll back. Keep a PC tower or console clear of your knees and follow that device’s ventilation instructions. Also leave access to the ports, power switch and removable panels you actually use.

Monitor arms and other clamp-on accessories

Check the desktop material, thickness, rear support bars and any raised shelf before ordering an arm. A desk’s overall weight capacity does not automatically establish that a small clamp can safely carry a heavy display at the edge. Ask the desk manufacturer about the particular mounting arrangement if the documentation is unclear. Avoid drilling or modifying the furniture around the built-in wiring.

Use the built-in power module safely

Read the rating label and instructions on the actual module before connecting your equipment. Count the combined load of the PC, monitors and chargers rather than the number of empty sockets. Do not assume built-in outlets provide surge protection, battery backup or a particular electrical certification unless the exact unit’s documentation says so.

The Electrical Safety Foundation’s guidance says multi-outlet devices should connect directly to a wall receptacle and should not be chained together. Plan the desk position so its supplied cord reaches a suitable outlet without stretching. Do not plug another power strip into the desk or use another strip to extend its reach.

Keep the cable away from chair wheels, sharp edges and places where furniture can pinch it. Leave the power unit accessible and dry, and inspect cords for damage. If the supplied connection cannot reach safely, change the layout or have a qualified electrician assess the outlet situation.

Assembly and purchase checklist

  • Confirm the exact desk size and color in the final listing, not just the first image in a shared product family.
  • Check the assembled footprint, usable desktop, shelf heights and chair clearance.
  • Read the electrical module’s documented rating, USB output and cord length.
  • Check whether replacement power modules and assembly instructions are available.
  • Review the delivery arrangements and return requirements before opening and assembling a large furniture package.
  • Inspect the boards, frame and wiring before loading the finished desk with equipment.

Which size makes sense?

The 44-inch Bestier is the more practical starting point for limited space and reversible side storage. The 71.5-inch version offers more width and a raised shelf if your room can accommodate the full structure. If your current desk already fits your body and equipment well, compare the cost of a suitable, safely installed power solution before replacing the furniture solely to gain charging ports.
