Compare Crossfire ES4, RPG and MP7 polarized sunglasses by exact lens code, frame design and fit, with clear UV and impact-rating checks.

For Crossfire polarized sunglasses, start with the exact lens code: ES4 21427 for an open, rimless design, RPG 23226 for a matte-black full frame with blue mirrored lenses, or MP7 24426 for a full frame with an adjustable nosepiece. Crossfire sells several similar-looking nonpolarized versions, so the model family alone is not enough to identify what you are buying.

These three choices are compared using Radians’ product information and exact variant details. The recommendations reflect their documented designs and buying tradeoffs; they are not the result of hands-on wear or impact testing.

Crossfire polarized sunglasses at a glance

Model and part number Exact frame and lens Why consider it? Check before ordering
ES4 21427 Crystal black; silver mirror polarized Rimless design and adjustable nosepiece 21427, not the standard silver-mirror 2123
RPG 23226 Matte black; blue mirror polarized Full-frame styling and rubber temple grips 23226 and an explicit polarized lens description
MP7 24426 Black; blue-green polarized Full frame with adjustable nosepiece The 24426 polarized version, not a different MP7 lens

1. Crossfire ES4 21427: for a rimless design

The ES4 21427 is the starting point if you dislike a full rim around each lens. Its silver mirrored lenses attach to a slim crystal-black frame, and Radians specifies an adjustable rubber nosepiece plus rubber temple grips. Those adjustments are useful to consider when choosing a fit, although they cannot guarantee comfort on every face.

The important distinction is 21427 versus 2123: both can appear in silver-mirror searches, but Radians identifies 21427 as the polarized version. The manufacturer lists a hard-coated polycarbonate lens, 99.9% UV protection and ANSI Z87.1 compliance for this SKU. See the Radians ES4 specifications and select 21427.

Buying check: the Amazon option below is the one-size, single-pair 21427 with silver mirror polarized lenses. A bundle, reader or another lens color is a different selection.

2. Crossfire RPG 23226: for a full frame with blue mirrored lenses

Choose the RPG 23226 if a matte-black full frame appeals more than the ES4’s open lens edges. Radians pairs that frame with blue mirror polarized lenses and rubber temple grips. This is a style and construction alternative, not a claim that it provides better glare reduction than the other two.

Radians’ SKU-specific information lists a hard-coated polycarbonate lens, 99.9% UV protection and ANSI Z87.1 compliance. The wider RPG family also includes other lens types, so verify 23226 on the seller’s selected option and packaging. A blue appearance by itself does not establish polarization.

Check the RPG at Radians, choosing 23226, Matte Black / Blue Mirror POL. Confirm whether the seller offers one pair or a case before comparing the total cost.

3. Crossfire MP7 24426: for a full frame with nose adjustment

The MP7 24426 combines a black full frame, blue-green polarized lenses and an adjustable nosepiece. Radians also specifies rubber temple grips and a hard-coated polycarbonate lens. It is worth comparing with the RPG when nose fit matters as much as the frame’s appearance.

For this exact variant, Radians states 99.9% UVA and UVB protection and ANSI Z87.1 compliance. Check the 24426 part number rather than assuming that every MP7 has the same lens or construction. The manufacturer lists the product size as R; that is not a personalized fit assessment.

Check MP7 24426 at Radians. Try the frame with any other equipment you normally wear and check for pinching, slipping or interference before keeping it.

Polarization, UV protection and impact ratings answer different questions

Polarization concerns reflected glare. It is not a substitute for a UV specification, and neither a dark lens nor a mirror finish proves that a lens is polarized. Use the exact product’s lens description rather than its photograph alone.

UV protection concerns ultraviolet light. Radians provides the UV claims listed above separately from its polarized lens descriptions. The FDA’s sunglasses guidance also explains that light-colored lenses can offer the same UV protection as dark ones. Lens darkness is therefore a poor way to compare UV protection.

Impact protection requires the appropriate markings and application. The current SKU information reviewed for these models says ANSI Z87.1; it does not specify an edition or a plus designation. We have not upgraded that wording to a model-specific Z87+ or ballistic claim. OSHA’s eye-protection selection guide distinguishes impact markings such as Z87+ and requires protection suited to the actual hazard. If your job requires a particular rating, verify the exact supplied frame and lenses with the manufacturer and your employer before use.

These sunglasses are not a substitute for task-specific welding, laser or chemical-splash protection. They are also not safe for looking at the Sun or an eclipse; NASA explains why ordinary sunglasses cannot serve as solar viewers.

How to choose between the three

  • Start with the frame: ES4 has an open lens outline; RPG and MP7 have full frames.
  • Check fit before keeping them: the frame should stay in place without uncomfortable pressure. For work, check compatibility with the other protective equipment required for the task.
  • Compare the complete order: model number, lens, frame color, quantity, shipping and return terms all matter. A low per-pair figure can belong to a bulk order.
  • Inspect the delivered pair: confirm the ordered SKU and required markings, then follow the manufacturer’s care and replacement guidance. A scratch-resistant coating does not make a lens scratchproof.

The ES4 21427 is the clearest starting choice for someone who wants a rimless style. Choose RPG 23226 for its matte-black full frame and blue mirror finish, or compare MP7 24426 when you want a full frame with nose adjustment. The best choice is the exact polarized variant that fits you and meets the requirements of the activity.
