Compare Rough Country 1307 and 1323 leveling kits for specific Silverado 1500 generations, with trim exclusions, installation differences and load limits.

The best leveling kit for a Silverado starts with the exact truck, not the advertised lift height. For a compatible Silverado 1500, Rough Country 1307 is our lower-spacer option for the older body generation, while Rough Country 1323 is our upper-spacer option for the newer generation. They are different kits with different installation requirements. This shortlist covers Silverado 1500 applications only; it does not qualify kits for 2500HD, 3500HD or Silverado EV.

These recommendations compare manufacturer-listed fitment, kit contents and installation requirements. We have not installed or road-tested the kits. “Best” means the better match to the stated application within this two-kit shortlist, not a promise of factory-equivalent ride or universal fit.

Choose by generation before comparing the kits

Kit Silverado applications listed Design and included parts Main buying condition
Rough Country 1307, nominal 2-inch front level 2007–2018 Silverado 1500 and 2019 Silverado 1500 LD; RWD/2WD or 4WD; excludes 2007 Classic and MagneRide Two lower strut spacers and hardware Confirm body generation and wheel clearance; not the newer-body 2019+ option.
Rough Country 1323, Strut Spacers configuration, nominal 2-inch front level 2019–2026 Silverado 1500 plus 2022 Silverado 1500 LTD; RWD/2WD or 4WD, subject to exclusions Two upper strut spacers and hardware; select Strut Spacers, not N3 Struts Excludes LT/Custom Trail Boss, ZR2, Super Cruise and LD models; verify suspension equipment.

LD and LTD are not interchangeable labels here: Rough Country lists the 2019 Silverado 1500 LD with 1307, and the 2022 Silverado 1500 LTD with the 1323 family. Do not choose using the registration year alone. The selected 1307 listing excludes 2007 Classic and MagneRide-equipped models. An HD model, a factory-lifted trim or an already modified truck needs a separately documented application.

1. Rough Country 1307: for the older Silverado 1500 application

The 1307 product page lists 2007–2018 Silverado 1500 and 2019 Silverado 1500 LD in both RWD and 4WD. The selected Amazon 1307 listing explicitly excludes 2007 Classic and MagneRide-equipped models; do not treat the broad year range as overriding those exclusions. The kit uses lower strut spacers; the manufacturer and the selected retail listing identify two spacers or lower strut mount extensions with mounting hardware. It is a front-leveling kit, not a rear air-spring support system.

Its main practical advantage is that Rough Country says strut disassembly is not required. That does not make it an install-without-preparation purchase: the 1307 installation instructions recommend a certified technician and require an alignment to factory specifications after installation. Include professional labor, alignment and the stated follow-up checks in the project budget.

Pay particular attention to wheels. The current product page says retaining factory wheels requires a separate 0.25-inch wheel spacer, SKU 1065. Have the installer verify the full wheel, tire and spacer combination before ordering. The manufacturer page specifically excludes 2014–2018 GMC Denali/Denali Ultimate models with Magnetic Ride Control. The selected Amazon listing uses broader Denali and MagneRide exclusions; this shortlist does not qualify those vehicles.

Choose 1307 if your exact older-generation 1500 is on the application list and its lower-spacer design fits the installation plan. Do not substitute it for 1323 simply because both advertise a 2-inch level. The verified Amazon selection below is model 1307, one kit with two lower strut mount extensions and hardware.

2. Rough Country 1323: for an eligible newer Silverado 1500

The 1323 manufacturer page lists 2019–2026 Silverado 1500 and 2022 Silverado 1500 LTD in RWD and 4WD. Choose its Strut Spacers configuration, child SKU 1323: this is the two-upper-spacer kit. The same page also offers an N3 Struts configuration, which is a different product.

For the Silverado applications, Rough Country excludes LT Trail Boss, Custom Trail Boss, ZR2, models equipped with Super Cruise, and LD models. Its shared GMC notes also exclude AT4, AT4X and Denali/Denali Ultimate with Adaptive Ride Control. If your truck has electronic/adaptive suspension or other special equipment that is not clearly resolved by the exact configuration’s notes, get written fitment confirmation before buying.

The family page’s diesel warning specifically names the alternative N3 struts. Do not turn that sentence into either a universal diesel exclusion or a guarantee that the spacer option fits every diesel truck. Match SKU 1323 to the engine, suspension and trim through the manufacturer’s vehicle selector or support.

This kit has a materially different installation burden from 1307. The 1323 instruction sheet includes spring-compressor work and modification of the original strut studs. Arrange installation with a qualified suspension technician who has read the exact instructions; this guide is not an installation procedure. The current product page points to an instruction sheet whose cover still says 2019–20, so confirm the latest instructions for your particular model year before work begins.

Choose 1323 only after the newer-body application and exclusions are resolved and the complete installation quote suits the project. Use the linked manufacturer page to select Strut Spacers and confirm part number 1323 for your truck.

Check these costs and trade-offs before ordering

Measure the goal, not just the spacer

A leveling kit changes the front-to-rear stance. Rough Country explains that factory rake lets the rear settle as cargo or trailer load is added; a truck leveled while empty may sit lower at the rear when loaded. Tell the installer how you actually use the truck, including regular cargo and towing, before deciding how much front height to add.

Keep factory load limits

A leveling kit does not increase factory towing capacity, payload, GVWR or axle ratings. Follow the ratings and loading instructions for your exact truck. Chevrolet’s trailering guide also requires the loaded vehicle/trailer combination to remain within all applicable weight ratings. Do not use a level stance as evidence that a load is acceptable.

Tire fit is more than advertised diameter

Check tire width, wheel width, offset, brake-hose clearance and clearance through the steering range. Rough Country calls for tire/wheel test fitting because actual dimensions vary. Its installation manuals also warn that larger or heavier wheels and tires can reduce braking performance and that increased vehicle height affects rollover risk. A “fits 33-inch tires” claim is not enough to approve your combination.

Budget for installation and checks

Ask for a quote covering the correct hardware, required installation work, alignment assessment and any headlight or equipment adjustments. For 1307, the manual explicitly requires factory-spec alignment, steering/brake and clearance checks, headlight readjustment and fastener checks after 500 miles. It also specifies later maintenance inspections; keep the instructions with the truck and follow the applicable schedule.

Do not stack spacers or mix additional height-increasing components to exceed the kit’s intended height. Both Rough Country manuals warn against adding, altering or fabricating parts to increase height beyond the purchased system. Previously lifted or otherwise modified suspension requires its own professional compatibility assessment.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best leveling kit for my Silverado?

For the applications in this comparison, start with 1307 for the listed older-body 1500 or 1323 Strut Spacers for an eligible newer-body 1500. The model year, LD/LTD distinction, drivetrain, trim and suspension equipment decide which is a candidate. Neither kit is a universal Silverado recommendation.

Will either kit fit a Trail Boss or ZR2?

The 1323 family explicitly excludes LT Trail Boss, Custom Trail Boss and ZR2. The 1307 applications in this article are the older-generation Silverado 1500 and 2019 LD, not a substitute kit for those factory-lifted trims. Seek a separately documented application.

Is a 2-inch leveling kit always simple to install?

No. The 1307 product page says strut disassembly is not required, but its manual still calls for qualified installation and alignment. The 1323 instructions include spring-compressor work and strut-stud modification. Compare the actual instructions before buying.

Can a leveling kit fix towing sag or increase payload?

It does not increase towing or payload ratings. Raising the front can leave the rear lower when the truck is loaded. Discuss loaded stance and suspension condition with a qualified installer while staying within the truck’s weight ratings.

Do I need alignment and follow-up inspections?

Plan for them with the installer. The 1307 manual specifically requires alignment to factory specifications and follow-up fastener and vehicle-system checks. Rough Country’s general guidance says to follow the exact kit’s instructions and complete alignment when required; confirm the appropriate requirements for 1323 and your model year.
