Compare three specific tablets by price, actual screen size, storage and software, with clear differences between 10.1-inch and 11-inch-class options.

If you are comparing the price of a 10-inch tablet, start with three specific options: TCL TAB 10 Gen4 for a lower-cost 10.1-inch Android device, Samsung Galaxy Tab A11+ for an 11-inch Android alternative, and Apple iPad A16 for iPad apps and accessories. Screen size, storage and software matter more than an inflated list of loosely related products.

The iPad is marketed as 11 inches but measures 10.86 inches diagonally as a rectangle, with less actual viewable area because of its rounded corners. Samsung specifies 11.0 inches as a full rectangle and 10.9 inches accounting for rounded corners. Both belong in a nearby-size comparison, but neither should be mistaken for an exact 10.1-inch replacement when buying a fitted case.

Price and configuration at a glance

These are listed U.S. prices for the configurations shown, before tax, when checked. They are comparison points rather than promises of the lowest market price; check the selected storage, connectivity and final total before ordering.

Tablet and configuration Screen Listed price Reason to consider it
TCL TAB 10 Gen4, 4GB RAM / 128GB, SKU 8483A3 10.1 inches; 1920 × 1200 $179.99 at TCL Lower-cost full-HD-size screen and expandable storage
Samsung Galaxy Tab A11+, 6GB RAM / 128GB, Wi-Fi 11 inches $299.99 at Samsung More physical memory and a larger Android screen
Apple iPad A16, 128GB, Wi-Fi 11-inch class; 10.86-inch rectangular diagonal $449 at Apple iPadOS and compatible Apple Pencil options

TCL TAB 10 Gen4: the lower-cost 10.1-inch option

The TCL TAB 10 Gen4 is the closest match here to a conventional 10-inch tablet. The U.S. 8483A3 configuration has a 10.1-inch, 1920 × 1200 display, Android 15, 4GB of physical RAM and 128GB of storage. TCL lists a MediaTek MT8786 processor, a 60Hz maximum refresh rate and microSD expansion up to 1TB.

Its appeal is straightforward: a roomy screen for reading, video and everyday apps without paying for the larger Samsung or Apple option. The limit is its entry-level processor and 4GB memory allocation. Treat it as an everyday-use choice and check any demanding game or specialist app separately. TCL’s advertised memory expansion is separate from physical RAM; it does not turn this into a tablet with 12GB of physical memory.

TCL’s page listed $179.99 before an advertised automatic checkout discount to $169.99. Use the undiscounted listed price for comparison because promotions can end. The page also mixes LTE-family material with its Wi-Fi specifications and describes some accessories as optional. Confirm the exact connectivity and box contents for SKU 8483A3; do not assume a cellular connection, pen, case or power adapter is included from a promotional image.

Samsung Galaxy Tab A11+: spend more for memory and a larger display

The Galaxy Tab A11+ is an 11-inch Android tablet, so it is slightly larger than the search term suggests. The base Wi-Fi configuration pairs 128GB storage with 6GB RAM; the 256GB version has 8GB RAM. Those are distinct configurations, and the higher memory figure should not be applied to the cheaper 128GB model.

This is the more attractive step up when you want additional physical memory for switching between everyday apps. Samsung also documents microSD expansion and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The main compromises are its higher price and lack of S Pen compatibility: an inexpensive tablet from Samsung is not automatically a substitute for a pen-enabled Galaxy Tab S model.

The Samsung U.S. configurator listed the 128GB Wi-Fi model at $299.99. Keep the ordinary Wi-Fi model separate from the 5G and Kids Edition versions. Samsung currently includes Galaxy Tab A11+ on its quarterly security-update list; schedules can change and vary by market. That listing is not a promise of a fixed support end date.

Apple iPad A16: choose it for iPadOS, not the lowest price

The iPad A16 has a 2360 × 1640 display, USB-C, Touch ID and 128GB as its starting storage capacity. Apple calls it an 11-inch iPad, while specifying a 10.86-inch rectangular diagonal. Start with the Wi-Fi version if you do not need a separate cellular connection.

Its strongest reason to be on your shortlist is access to the particular iPad apps you want, especially if you already use Apple’s ecosystem. It supports Apple Pencil USB-C and Apple Pencil first generation; the latter needs a USB-C to Apple Pencil Adapter for pairing and charging. The Pencil is a separate purchase. Do not assume the A16 supports every game or feature offered on iPad Pro or an M-series iPad: check the app’s device requirements.

The Apple U.S. configurator listed 128GB Wi-Fi at $449. That makes it a substantial step up from the TCL on the offers checked. Buy it because the software and compatible accessories earn their place in your budget. Its 128GB capacity is fixed internally, so estimate your app and offline-media needs before choosing storage. No fixed future software-support end date is promised here.

How to compare the real cost

Match the exact variant. Compare the same generation, physical RAM, storage and Wi-Fi or cellular configuration. A 64GB clearance model and a 128GB current listing are different offers. Check that a low price is for the tablet itself and not a cover, cable, writing pad or e-reader.

Budget for the setup you will use. Add any required case, stand, keyboard, pen, charger and subscriptions to the tablet price. If a power adapter or accessory is not explicitly included in the selected listing, allow for it separately. A sale label or installment amount is not the full purchase price.

Choose software before extras. Check the store listing and publisher’s requirements for important apps. Ask the manufacturer about the exact model’s remaining update support if you plan to keep it for years. A nominal screen size does not establish app compatibility, accessory fit or useful service life.

Frequently asked questions

Is an 11-inch iPad really a 10-inch tablet?

The iPad A16 is sold as an 11-inch model. Apple specifies a 10.86-inch diagonal when measured as a rectangle, with less viewable area around the rounded corners. It is a nearby-size alternative, not an exact 10.1-inch match.

Which option has the lowest verified listed price here?

The TCL TAB 10 Gen4 4GB/128GB configuration was listed at $179.99 by TCL, before a temporary checkout discount. That is the lowest listed price among these three selected configurations; prices and availability can change.

Does advertised RAM expansion equal physical RAM?

No. For the TCL configuration here, the physical RAM is 4GB. Its memory-expansion feature is separate and should not be counted as 12GB of installed physical RAM.

Can I buy a case using only the screen size?

No. Match the exact tablet model and generation, then check dimensions, buttons and camera openings. A case labeled for one 10.1-inch tablet is not automatically suitable for another tablet with a similar screen size.
