Amazon ends up expanding air cargo fleet with a total of 15 planes with 70 more planes to be added by 2021
There was a piece of news earlier this month that courier company FedEx was dumping Amazon from the air cargo service. This morning, Amazon announced that they will soon be expanding their own air delivery network called Amazon Air.
According to Amazon, it is leasing another 15 Boeing 737-800 cargo aircraft from GE Capital Aviation Services. Amazon already has some planes for delivery and these additional planes will be added to the existing list. The aircraft will fly out of more than 20 U.S. air gateways in the Amazon Air network.
