Huawei has started showing ads on the lock screen for some of its phones
Written by Colin Newlyn

Some of Huawei phone owners have said that they had noticed a few ads displayed on their lock screen. This was declared by Android police.

Users are complaining about the booking.com ads which appeared on their phone yesterday. Different types of phones’ feature were on the lock screen and a few other ads were on the phone’s Magazine’s unlock feature. It is a special kind of feature where the user gets to see new images every day, whenever they unlock their phones.

Hwei’s German Twitter account apologized to a user which stated that:

“I’m sorry that you think we want to advertise.”

They also said that the user can deactivate the ads by going to the settings and deleting each and every image. It was something which Reddit Users found very interesting. Deactivating those ads is a manual process. Changing the lock screen image is something that will be not disabled easily.

The users don’t care about the reason behind displaying those useless ads especially when the company is under so much public scrutiny.
